Tricks to know

Rolling on a skateboard.

Things to know

A fakie is rolling backwards. It came from early ramps skateboarding. When you roll up a ramp in your normal stance, then stop rolling at the top, and roll backwards down the ramp. Rolling backwards is fakie.

Rolling backwards is also called switchstance or switch.

You can say fakie or switch nollie. That is getting technical. Popping the board on the front while rolling fakie is also a switch nollie.

Rolling fakie to do tricks and popping an ollie is a great thing to do. Everything you learn in your normal stance can be learned rolling fakie.

Practice

Try rolling fakie and doing a 180 fakie kickturn to normal stance and keep rolling.

Try rolling fakie and popping an ollie from your tail. A switch nollie if you like that term. Popping the board from the front while rolling gives you an extra kick up into the air. Your momentum rolling goes down into the deck when you snap it giving more pop. It is harder to control but more responsive.
I love doing fakie flip tricks for that extra pop.
some ramp trick you can do to fakie are rock to fakie which is pretty basic. try a ollie to fakie. For more advanced trick try pivot fakie or blunt fakie.
